House of color & pattern

Nashville, TN

Mary Kathryn’s own home is a bold, joyful showcase of color, pattern, and personality — a space that reflects her design ethos in full. Every choice was made to support real family life, blending high and low investments, practical materials, and deeply personal details.

Artwork by the kids hangs proudly above both mantles, souvenirs from time spent living in New York and Hawaii appear throughout, and no surface is too precious. The dining table was chosen specifically because daily use — homework, markers, paint spills — will only add to its charm over time.

As the family’s needs have shifted, rooms have evolved too — making this home a living example of how thoughtful design can support change, creativity, and connection.
