House of color & pattern

Nashville, TN

Mary Kathryn’s own Nashville home is unabashed in its use of color, pattern, and personality. The family home strategically blends higher-end and budget-friendly choices to stretch dollars, and also incorporates deeply personal objects, souvenirs, and art to joyfully celebrate each member of the family. Kids’ art is blown up and hangs over both mantles, objects from the family’s time lived in New York City and Hawaii adorn the walls, and the materials used throughout stand up to real life with three kids and a dog. The dining table, for example, was chosen because the messy imperfection of daily homework and art projects will add to its charm over time. Several rooms have been updated as kids grow and family needs evolve, which is reflected in these photos.
