Environmentally mindful family home

Columbia, TN

What began as a bland builder-grade house is now a vibrant, personality-filled home tailored to a young family of four and shaped by their deep commitment to sustainability. With children ages 3 and 5, the clients wanted spaces that felt functional, personal, and climate-conscious.

We reused existing pieces where possible, prioritized secondhand sourcing, and avoided unnecessary waste. Even new purchases were intentionally chosen, including a Sabai sectional, selected for the brand’s environmentally responsible practices.

The design also celebrates each family member: in the entry, two watercolor paintings by the children were professionally enlarged and now hang side-by-side as custom artwork. The result is a home that reflects the family’s values: joyful, grounded, and thoughtfully low-impact.
